A musical and visual journey through the suggestive, surreal world of Henri Dutilleux

This evening the audience will be taken along on a musical and visual journey through the suggestive, surreal world of one of France’s most innovative composers: Henri Dutilleux. While writing his poetic, atmospheric music, Dutilleux was influenced by writers Marcel Proust and Charles Baudelaire. Their works kindled his interest in memories, the subconscious and dreams.
Dutilleux’s music has never been heard or seen in this manner. To intensify the experience of the mysterious atmosphere surreal, dark films by various artists will be projected on the ceiling during the concert. These illusionary images, edited by Tessel de Vries, will pull you into the story of the music, from nostalgia to nightmare.
